About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Bradley and Savannah

Their personalities are like night and day and yet they are the best of friends and love each other so much.  They have a strong sibling love for each other that I hope will always remain the same.

Legos are probably their favorite thing they play with together.  Bradley loves building creations and Savannah loves tearing them down.  Bradley shows a lot of patience despite the many times he has to rebuild something.

They both love the outdoors so much.  Both of them are perfectly content with a stick and a pile of dirt.  Bradley will dig holes in the dirt with the stick and Savannah will eat the stick and dirt.  I think some of their happiest moments are when they are outside.

Savannah knows how to irritate Bradley like none other.  She may or may not have picked that habit up from me.  Bradley has such a great sense of humor and handles it well.  Savannah will get this mischievous look in her eyes and we know she's about to do something that will make you holler.

Savannah can be high maintenance which means a lot of crying happens when things don't go her way.  Bradley, you show more patience than I do most days.

Nothing makes me smile more than when I see Bradley wanting to help take care of Savannah.  Whether it's pushing her stroller, feeding her a bottle, brushing her teeth, or just giving her a hug, he is a fantastic big brother!

And moments like this just make my heart melt while being overwhelmed
with love for both of you!

The Latest and Greatest in Bradley's World

Bradley, I wish I could express in words how much I love you.  I'm not a very emotional person but when I think about how much you mean to me, my heart literally hurts with love for you.  We have this fun game we play together where we tell each other what we love each other more than.  I always say I love you more than coffee, chocolate, and the ocean because those are three pretty important things in my life.  You love to say you love me more more than chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate ice cream, and chocolate milk because chocolate has pretty high ranking in your world.  Kindergarten has been awesome for you.  You're like a little sponge, just soaking up everything as much and as fast as you can.  I'm so proud of how hard you are working on your letters and you stay so positive about learning.  I hope you never lose that excitement for learning.  My favorite time of day is when I see you get off the bus and run to me.  You can't wait to tell me all about your day and you always remember to ask me how my day was which is super sweet.  Your heart is so very tender and you care about others.  I see so much of my Mom in you and I know if she was here on earth, the bond between you two would be incredible.  You see the good in people even including Siri when she gets me lost.  You told me that Siri must be having a bad day and not to get mad at her when we ended up at the wrong place.  You love to make people laugh and come up with the craziest knock knock jokes.  Bradley, it's hard to believe you are just 5 years old.  You show more patience, forgiveness, love, and kindness than most adults and remind us all to take the time to enjoy the little moments.  Hugs and kisses from you make us smile every day and you my dear, sweet boy know how to give us the best of the best!

Family time outside working is one your favorite things to do.

You might just turn into a chocolate chip pancake with the amount you consume.

I love that you still love books!
And you are going to be reading these all by yourself very soon.

This is one of my favorite times of the day!

You're starting to really like playing soccer.

You can't wait for the bus to pick you up every morning!

Even in the rain, you don't mind walking to the bus stop.

This picture perfectly captures your love for the ocean.

Soccer and leaves just go together.

 You're such an adventurous boy!

 Slides still make you happy!

 You're always making Lego creations.

I'm so impressed with your creativity.

You love animals and right now you tell people you want
to be a zookeeper when you grow up.

Our Weekend Recap

What a perfectly delicious Fall weather we had this weekend!  We took advantage of being outside as much as we could.  Bradley had some friends over for a few hours on Friday night.  It was a night full of pizza, brownie sundaes, Superhero dress-up, matchbox cars, and a movie.  I love this age where they are all using their imagination and playing together so well!  And Savannah was quite entertained with 3 boys running wild in the house.

Batman, Captain America, and Spiderman were at my house on Friday night!

Movie time!

We had our Marriage Oneness class on Saturday morning which focused on communication.  After our class, we came home and worked on little projects around the house which included Mike making me a couple grapevine wreaths.  I was blown away with his talent in crafting. :)  I ran up to the Farmer's Market and got some meat and vegetables for the week. Our Farmer's Market runs through the end of October and I'm going to miss it so much this Winter! We had some trees cut down on Saturday afternoon and we watched a little bit of the TN Vols football game before heading to church on Saturday night.  Savannah decided to party on Saturday night from 11:30 pm until 3 am.  I'm not sure what got into her but sleep was the last thing on her mind.  She just wanted to play with her toys!

Getting the grapevines ready for our fall wreaths.

Pretty impressive!  Sweet and simple....just what I wanted.

Vegetables from the Farmer's Market are the best.

We finally beat the FL Gators!!  The Vols are 4-0 right now!

This child knows how to party hard at 2 am!

On Sunday morning I went back to church to help in the nursery for a couple of hours.  When I got back home, we ate lunch and then headed to Doles Orchard in Limington.  We had absolutely gorgeous weather and as exhausted as I was from staying up with Savannah the night before, I knew we all needed to be outside soaking up the sunshine.  We picked apples, plums, raspberries, and pumpkins.  The only disappointing thing was they didn't have apple cider donuts...something we are used to from the NC apple orchard we always went to.  After the orchard, I desperately needed some ocean therapy, so we headed to Ft. Williams and I got some ocean time in.  Yesterday would have been my Mom's 63rd birthday and there is something about the ocean that is so healing.  We had supper at Bradley's favorite Mexican restaurant (kids eat free on Sunday which makes it even better) and then we headed home for an early bedtime for all of us.  And the last weekend of September is in the books.

Ready to pick some apples!

And plums!  It was our first time picking plums so that was really cool.

Savannah's first experience biting into an apple.  She loved it!
She wasn't sure what to do with all those pumpkins.

Some days it still blows me away that I'm a mom of two beautiful babies!
Stopping to say hello to the chickens.  I really want my own chickens one day!

Hayride time!

Bradley loved picking out pumpkins for us!

And he loved showing us how strong he was by insisting on carrying them all.

Our wagonful of pumpkins and gourds.

Ocean time!
Bradley and I found some really great pieces of driftwood for our next project.

We love Mexican food!

This boy can tear up some tacos, rice and beans!
He says "I wish I lived in Mexico so I could eat Mexican food every day of my life."
