About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your stories with me as well.

Our Weekend Recap

It was kind of a blah weekend.  The weather was very dreary, our moods matched the weather, and we had a few  commitments that just made it impossible to do anything that we really wanted to do.  My favorite night was Friday night.  The kids and I picked Mike up from work and headed to a restaurant downtown Portland called B. Good. I had a 50% off coupon that I received so all four of us ate for just under $15.  After we ate, we headed back to Mike's work so he could finish closing a transaction.  Then it was back home and the kids were in bed by 7:30 pm and Mike and I caught up on our homework for the Marriage Oneness class.

We loved eating at B. Good!  The atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious!

 Bradly the box monster.

Bradley thought this was awesome, Savannah not so much.

We had our Marriage Oneness class first thing on Saturday morning.  We made a quick stop at the Farmer's Market on the way home to pick up some items.  Mike started working on the second baby gate for the top of the stairs while I started laundry.  We watched some football before heading to church that evening and that was pretty much our day.

One hot adorable mess in more ways than one.

On Sunday, we had a super relaxing morning before heading out to a birthday party for some twins in Bradley's kindergarten class.  Bradley has been so excited about this party and just knew everyone in his class would be there.  And just about everyone was.  It was a HUGE party with lots of people.  It was a pretty dreary day once again and we were both craving some apple cider donuts so we headed to an orchard after the birthday party.  They were good but still not as good as the ones at Skytop in NC.  Mike finished up the baby gate completely and stained a final coat on both gates and they look beautiful.  Savannah is officially crawling (slowly) so the stairway is now safe.  The kids were in bed early again on Sunday night (I'm loving these early bedtimes) and Mike and I had a chance to get our study ready for LifeGroup on Tuesday night.  Crazy story for Sunday.  Mike went running on Sunday morning and lost his license somewhere while running.  He retraced his route but didn't have any luck finding his license.  When we got home from the birthday party, his license was resting on the door knob on the back door.  Another reason we love this small town.  A huge thanks to the kind person who found his license and brought it to our house!

Relaxing on Sunday morning reading some books.

Bradley loved the quaint little playground at Apple Acres Orchard.

Savannah wasn't interested in selfies.
