About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Our Weekend Recap

What a perfectly delicious Fall weather we had this weekend!  We took advantage of being outside as much as we could.  Bradley had some friends over for a few hours on Friday night.  It was a night full of pizza, brownie sundaes, Superhero dress-up, matchbox cars, and a movie.  I love this age where they are all using their imagination and playing together so well!  And Savannah was quite entertained with 3 boys running wild in the house.

Batman, Captain America, and Spiderman were at my house on Friday night!

Movie time!

We had our Marriage Oneness class on Saturday morning which focused on communication.  After our class, we came home and worked on little projects around the house which included Mike making me a couple grapevine wreaths.  I was blown away with his talent in crafting. :)  I ran up to the Farmer's Market and got some meat and vegetables for the week. Our Farmer's Market runs through the end of October and I'm going to miss it so much this Winter! We had some trees cut down on Saturday afternoon and we watched a little bit of the TN Vols football game before heading to church on Saturday night.  Savannah decided to party on Saturday night from 11:30 pm until 3 am.  I'm not sure what got into her but sleep was the last thing on her mind.  She just wanted to play with her toys!

Getting the grapevines ready for our fall wreaths.

Pretty impressive!  Sweet and simple....just what I wanted.

Vegetables from the Farmer's Market are the best.

We finally beat the FL Gators!!  The Vols are 4-0 right now!

This child knows how to party hard at 2 am!

On Sunday morning I went back to church to help in the nursery for a couple of hours.  When I got back home, we ate lunch and then headed to Doles Orchard in Limington.  We had absolutely gorgeous weather and as exhausted as I was from staying up with Savannah the night before, I knew we all needed to be outside soaking up the sunshine.  We picked apples, plums, raspberries, and pumpkins.  The only disappointing thing was they didn't have apple cider donuts...something we are used to from the NC apple orchard we always went to.  After the orchard, I desperately needed some ocean therapy, so we headed to Ft. Williams and I got some ocean time in.  Yesterday would have been my Mom's 63rd birthday and there is something about the ocean that is so healing.  We had supper at Bradley's favorite Mexican restaurant (kids eat free on Sunday which makes it even better) and then we headed home for an early bedtime for all of us.  And the last weekend of September is in the books.

Ready to pick some apples!

And plums!  It was our first time picking plums so that was really cool.

Savannah's first experience biting into an apple.  She loved it!
She wasn't sure what to do with all those pumpkins.

Some days it still blows me away that I'm a mom of two beautiful babies!
Stopping to say hello to the chickens.  I really want my own chickens one day!

Hayride time!

Bradley loved picking out pumpkins for us!

And he loved showing us how strong he was by insisting on carrying them all.

Our wagonful of pumpkins and gourds.

Ocean time!
Bradley and I found some really great pieces of driftwood for our next project.

We love Mexican food!

This boy can tear up some tacos, rice and beans!
He says "I wish I lived in Mexico so I could eat Mexican food every day of my life."
