About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your stories with me as well.

Back in the Saddle by Ruth Logan Herne Book Review

Back in the Saddle is about a former cowboy who has to come back to the family ranch due to a non successful career in the stock market.  Colt's return home brings new challenges with his brother Nick who isn't thrilled with his return and inserting him into the family business affairs.  Colt also finds Angelina,  the house manager, intriguing yet mysterious and he's determined to find out what she's hiding.  As Wall Street recovers, Colt has a choice whether to return to the financial district or will he stay in the saddle for good?

Back in the Saddle is the first book in the new western romance series by Ruth Logan Herne.  She has more than a half million books in print, including 15 Love Inspired contemporary novels.

My take on the book is that it was very hard to get into the story.  I'm not sure if it's just the season of life I'm in right now or if the book really takes a lot of effort to read and is not interesting enough.  The beginning chapters were a little confusing which didn't help create my excitement to find out more about Colt.  I tried three different times and failed at finishing the book all three times.  So unfortunately this book will not be on my must read list and will probably end up in my garage sale pile and not on my bookshelf.

Disclosure - I received this book for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for a review.  All opinions expressed here are my own.
