About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

The Latest and Greatest in Bradley's World

Bradley, you only have one week left of being three years old!  You are so full of life and have to be moving at all times.  You are always asking what we are going to do next and are all about knowing the plans for the week!  Your favorite show to watch right now is The Berenstain Bears and your favorite book is 10 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.   You still love to be outdoors and if you can't find a mud puddle to play in, you will make your own.  Dirt has become your best friend.  Bradley, I am so thankful for you!  You are my little sunshine and will always be my beautiful baby boy.

Grass, dirt, and rocks = endless playtime

The spinning teacup on the carousel at the mall is your absolute favorite!

You have become a beach bum for sure!

You love your swingset!

You are ready to start your career!

You are always finding flowers to pick for me.

Chocolate ice cream is your favorite.

You are practicing to become a Red Sox player when you grow up.

You are so proud of yourself for accomplishing the climbing wall by yourself.

You love going to the library and the special train exhibit made you so happy.

You are always finding new ways to try things out.

Broccoli Cheddar soup at Panera Bread is your favorite soup in the world.

Dirt has become just another layer of your skin.

You can tear up a hot dog...or two!

You always have to stop and tell the cows hello when we visit the farm.

Riding bikes and taking walks is one of your favorite things to do after supper.

Our Weekend Recap

What a great weekend we had!  We did a LOT but we were also pretty relaxed all weekend long.  Lots of sunshine and warmer temps made us all very happy.

On Saturday we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Mt. Washington in New Hampshire.  It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to go again!

The perfect picnic spot looking across to Mt. Washington.

The drive there was gorgeous.

We chose the guided tour this time since Mike was nervous to drive up the mountain and with my crazy mountain driving habits, I wasn't even given a chance.  :)

The bottom of the mountain getting ready to head up.

About 4 miles from the top of them mountain.  It was so cool to see the various trees driving up.  There are white and yellow birches on the bottom of the mountain, pine and fir trees in the middle, and super tiny trees on top that can't grow due to the weather.

We made it...almost to the top!  Due to the 70 mph winds at the peak, they had the last 2 miles of the road closed.  Mt. Washington has recorded some of the highest mph winds.

Absolutely breathtaking!  If it wasn't for the wind gusts, I could have stayed up there all day.

After church on Sunday, we went to a BBQ and birthday party.  Then we came home and did some yard work.  This is the first year that I haven't suffered any allergies but Mike has had it pretty rough.  The mask seemed to help a lot this time doing yard work.

Brad thought the masks were really cool!

We started Monday morning off with a local town parade.  It was so much fun!

Bradley loved watching the parade!

After the parade, we headed to Bug Light park and watched the boats for awhile.

One of Bradley's favorite games right now is tag.

Of course, we couldn't end the day without grilling out and playing a couple games of croquet!

Letterpress Blocks from Dayspring Review

TRUST.  God has been reminding me of this simple but very important word the past several weeks.  I have these letterpress blocks in my family room right now and I love being reminded to TRUST every time I walk into the room.

Dayspring is the designer of these really awesome letterpress blocks!  You can create your own word or choose a word that has already been created by Dayspring.  These blocks are very well made and can either stand alone or be mounted on a wall.  You can receive 20% off your purchase of letterpress blocks by using code LOVE20.  This code is good through December 31, 2015.

I also love some of these ideas.  These letterpress blocks add such a warm touch to the home!

Disclosure - I received a complimentary set of the letterpress blocks from Dayspring.  All opinions expressed here are my own.

Xlear Review & Giveaway

Xlear, Inc. is committed to providing consumers with the health benefits of xylitol, a naturally occurring sweetener, by manufacturing all-natural, health-enhancing products.

The Xlear Nasal spray is a soothing nasal spray that helps alleviate congestion due to allergies, cold, flu, and sinusitis.  When used twice a day, Xlear nasal spray hydrates the sinuses and nasal passages and also helps to wash away airborne contaminants and pollutants.  My opinion - the nasal spray is easy to use and it did help clear my stuffy nose.

The Spry toothpaste consists of 1/3 xylitol, which provides 20-25% of the recommended dosage per day.  Xylitol increases mineral absorption into the enamel of the teeth, resulting in greater protection with a clean, fresh feeling that lasts.  My opinion - I wasn't in love with the flavor of the toothpaste and my mouth actually felt dry after brushing with it.

Spry Oral Rinse uses a mix of natural flavorings and herbal extracts along with a xylitol-rich, low alcohol, and pH-neutral formula.  My opinion - this was one of the nicest mouthwashes I've used.  It was very refreshing and gentle and left my mouth feeling super clean and fresh.

Spry Gum - this gum is 100% Xylitol sweetened and is non-gmo and gluten free.  It's available in four flavors: spearmint, wintergreen, cinnamon, and peppermint.  My opinion - I tried the peppermint and although I loved the taste, the flavor only lasted for about 15 seconds and then I was ready to spit the gum out.

Spry Gems - these mints are also sweetened with 100% Xylitol and are non-gmo and gluten free.  They come in berry, cinnamon, peppermint, spearmint, and lemon cream flavors.  My opinion - the cinnamon was my favorite and I really liked the taste and the way my mouth felt after eating one.

Right now you can get the Xlear Care Kit (valued at $65) for only $25 (plus s&h) by using the code SAVE50.  Visit here to get this special discount.  This offer will expire on June 30th.

I'm also giving away one 1.5 fl oz of the Xlear Nasal Spray to one of my readers!  Enter below and the winner will be chosen on Friday, May 29th.

Exploding Sidewalk Art

This was a really fun activity for Bradley.  I was personally hoping for a bigger explosion but I suppose it was better to be safe and practical for a toddler.  :)

Ingredients
White Vinegar
Baking Soda
Corn Starch
Food Coloring
Ziploc Bags
Paper Towel cut up in a square

Directions
There isn't an exact measurement to the ingredients.  I just scooped and poured until it felt right.  Mix corn starch, vinegar, and food coloring in Ziploc bag.  You want the bag to be at least 1/3 full.  I just added the ingredients, sealed the bag, and shook it...it combined perfectly.  Pour some baking soda into the center of the paper towel and fold towel around the baking soda.  When you are ready to make the exploding art, drop the baking soda bomb into the ziploc bag and seal bag completely.  Give the bag a couple of shakes and watch it expand and explode.

Bradley scooping the corn starch into the bag.

I only had two colors, purple and green, but Bradley didn't care.  He loved squeezing the coloring into the mixture.

Watching the bags explode colors on the driveway

He loved splashing his feet into the colors.

Getting messy was the best part for him!

Clean-up was super easy with the hose.
