About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Song of the Day - "Indescribable" by Chris Tomlin

Several weeks ago we had a yard sale.  It was NOT successful and I was extremely disappointed because I was really hoping to buy an air conditioner with the money we made.  Most of the homes in Maine do not have central a/c and I know a lot of people that don't even mess with window units.  There have been a few muggy days but nothing like we dealt with living in the South.  But I knew July and August were right around the corner and a window a/c unit would be very nice for those hot days.  Our yard sale earnings totaled a measly $25 and I was so bummed knowing that would only pay for 1/4 of an a/c unit.

Once again, God blows me away with His goodness.  He provided a window unit for $15 on a Facebook Yard Sale page.  I couldn't believe it!  The window unit was from a motel that was being upgraded with a new system and the lady was just wanting to get rid of it.  It came from a smoking room so I wasn't even sure if it was something we would be able to get the smell out of.  But for $15, we were willing to give it a try.  Mike watched several YouTube videos on how to get the cigarette smell out of a/c units and after lots of of soaking, scrubbing, bleaching, and disassembling lots of parts, he was successful.  The a/c unit works perfectly, blows super cold air, and isn't stinky!

I couldn't help but think of Philippians 4:19 which says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."  It makes me sad that I didn't have the faith that God could take that $25 and provide us with an a/c.  But God continues to show His love despite my lack of faith.  What an amazing God I have!
