About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Our Weekend Recap

We started off our weekend with having a yard sale.  I'm so used to saying garage sales but they are called yard or tag sales up North.  Whatever you want to call it, my sale was pitiful on Saturday.  Our house was on a busy street in SC and we always got a LOT of traffic, made a nice chunk of money, and usually had only a small box of junk left to take to Goodwill.  I had no idea what to expect in Maine.  I had seen a few yard sales around but apparently they aren't as popular as they are in the South.  We made a whopping $25 and we had a huge trunk load of junk to take to Goodwill.  It was not worth the hours put into getting the sale ready and the dozen mosquito bites I got while sitting outside.  That sale will be my first and last yard sale in Maine.
All ready by 7 am!  We had a couple customers between 8-9 am but most everyone showed up after 10 am.  Apparently early birds don't exist either in Maine.

This little guy had a blast with his lemonade stand.  He stole the show for sure and not many people could resist his cuteness even if they didn't drink the lemonade.

We had potluck dinner after church on Sunday and then the cold rain made the perfect napping weather!  We made chocolate chip cookies that afternoon and then introduced Bradley to Little House on the Prairie.  He only lasted about 15 minutes before saying "this is a Mommy movie".  He's obviously not a fan yet.  FaceTime with Mimi and Papa made our evening happy and another weekend is over.  Goodbye May...hello June!

Nothing beats cookie dough!

Chocolate chip cookies on a rainy day are the best!
