About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Good Friday and My Song for the Day - Not Guilty by Mandisa

I attended my first Good Friday service tonight.  I'm going to be honest and say that I've never looked at Good Friday the way I looked at it tonight.  Good Friday was just a work day that we got off for Easter.  Yay for another paid holiday....that's about all it really meant to me.

I'm ashamed and saddened to think that all these years I didn't see the importance of Good Friday.  The most important day to remember what Jesus did for me was lost in all the Easter dress shopping, manicures & pedicures, and Easter egg hunts.

As we were taking communion at church tonight, I was picturing what it must have been like at the cross watching Jesus suffer.  I imagined myself in Mary's shoes.  I pictured the disciples watching with guilt.  I tried to imagine Jesus not only dealing with the excruciating pain but the emotions of feeling shame, loneliness, and betrayal of his closest friends.  His love for me is so hard to comprehend.  He would suffer so much for me....for someone who says she is a Christian but didn't even understand the importance of Good Friday until today.  What an incredible Jesus we have.  What amazing grace He extends.

I love the song "Not Guilty" by Mandisa.  I'm not guilty because of the price You paid 2,000+ years ago.  I've been forgiven because of Your love to me.  Thank you Jesus!
