I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. Best Ever Blueberry Muffins

I have tried LOTS of blueberry muffin recipes.  I have tweaked a couple of my favorite recipes and made the perfect blueberry muffin...at least in my world of perfect blueberry muffins.  Healthiness doesn't exist in this muffin so just accept the yummy goodness and don't count calories on this one.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons raw sugar

Cream butter and sugar together.  Add eggs, vanilla, and almond extract and beat.  Add 1 cup flour and mix.  Add buttermilk and remaining cup of flour and baking powder.  Mix until combined.  Stir in blueberries by hand.  Grease muffin pans well or use muffin liners.  Sprinkle approximately 1/2 teaspoon raw sugar on top of muffins.  Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.  Cool on wire rack.
