About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

What PTSD Did To My Brother

My brother was a Marine.  He served two tours in Afghanistan.  You look at Marines believing they are someone incredibly brave, strong, and can do anything.  And Brandon is just that.  What you don't see are their personal, daily struggles of reliving those memories from combat.  Brandon was recently interviewed by a local news station in Iowa. I'm so proud of him for being brave and opening up about what he has and is going through.  PTSD is not a joke.  It's real and there are many veterans out there that need help.  I'm so thankful that Brandon and Kate have told their story so others who need help, can see that there is hope.  Kate, you are one heck of a woman and I'm so proud of your determination to stay with my brother and help him through this.  Many prayers for both of you as you take on this next step in healing and helping others.  And I know our Mom is smiling down from heaven, so very proud of her son and his wife.
