About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your stories with me as well.

Divine Applause by Jeff Anderson Book Review & Giveaway

We all know that long distance relationships take a lot of work.  How much harder is a relationship with someone that we have never seen?  Have you ever wondered if there is a better way to have a relationship with God?

Jeff Anderson does a great job showing us how to use our spiritual senses to really experience God.  You will be able to sense God's personal attention in unmistakable ways, cultivate a constant awareness of God's presence, enjoy the rewards of secrets between you and God, and discover the intensity of God's interest in you.

Some of my favorite thoughts in this book were the following:

Going to God in prayer does not always get a message in return, reading God's text does not always mean words will jump off the page.  But over time, you will begin to know His voice because you know His ways more clearly - by knowing the text.

God knows when you are desperate to be noticed.  He is particularly interested in knowing that you're turning to Him, not as a matter of habit or convenience, but because you need with all your being to be heard and to hear back from Him.  God knows when you have reached a breaking point and are now in a position to hear His answer.

God relishes times when we talk to Him alone, rather than being satisfied to talk about Him with others.

Divine Applause was very easy to read with some Jeff sharing some personal stories, encouragement, and ways to have a more intimate relationship with God.
