About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Freezer Meals for the Shut-In's

One of my favorite projects that P31 (our ladies ministry at church) does every year is Meals for Shut-in's.  We all sign up for a dish or two and make 10 servings of that dish.  We put them into individual containers that can be frozen and reheated in the microwave.  Then we will distribute the meals to 10 shut-in's in our church.  These sweet shut-in's will now have  meals in their freezer that will help make supper easier for them.  My dish to make this time was spaghetti which happens to be one of our family's personal favorite.  Being married to an Italian means pasta and sauce are pretty much always well stocked in our pantry!

Spaghetti sauce and meat is ready!

Angel hair pasta is my personal favorite!

Dishing up the meals and sprinkling cheese on top.

I wrote heating instructions on a freezer bag and sealed the container in the bag.  I hate freezer burn on food so I always try to double bag items going in the freezer.
