About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your stories with me as well.

Our Weekend Recap

What did I do all weekend?  I burned calories and laughed all weekend.  It was a very happy weekend with lots of friends, laughter and fun exercise!
We had our friends the Buckley's and the Gleason's over on Friday night for card games and dessert.  We totally burned off all the calories we ate that night by the huge amount of laughter we had.  The kind where your sides ache and your cheeks hurt.  I'm not sure if it was just hanging out with hilarious friends or all the sugar we consumed, but either way we had a fantastic night!

Chocolate chip cookies and white chocolate and peanut butter and chocolate dipped pretzels were just the beginning of the sugar consumed.
On Saturday, I met some girlfriends for an early breakfast.  One of them had recently been married and moved all the way out to Arizona.  It was great to catch up and have a relaxing morning talking and laughing, of course.  I met up with Mike and Bradley around 9:30 am and we went to Swamp Rabbit Trail to bike ride.  We began at Furman University and biked to Travelers Rest.  We biked for 90 minutes which meant we burned a little over 1,000 calories!  We ate a picnic lunch at Furman after our bike ride.  Publix subs are the greatest!
We LOVE the trails at Swamp Rabbit!
Biking makes both of us happy!
Riding in the bike trailer makes Bradley very sleepy!

Posing at Furman after our picnic lunch!

Mike made us the most delicious chicken sandwiches for dinner on Saturday evening.  I topped them off with homemade cookies n cream milkshakes!
On Sunday we took care of the 2's and 3's during church service.  They were all full of energy and always make us feel like we are in our 50's rather than our 30's.  We had a relaxing afternoon of naps, studying, and card games.  Then our church rented Shipwreck Cove Water Park that evening. We had a fabulous time with friends at the water park.  Best part ever was convincing several of my girlfriends into the water slide.  We made memories that we will never forget!  A late night supper of hot dogs and blizzards with friends at Quick Trip  and our weekend was perfectly complete.

Getting ready to go swimming!
