About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

My friend made these sandwiches for a party at my house several years ago and they were a huge hit!  Every time I make them for my family, we always wonder why we don't make them more often because they are so delicious.  The ingredients can be a little pricey but they are very easy to make, and taste like a million bucks!

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
3 tablespoons poppy seed
1 onion, grated
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon style mustard
2 (12 ounce) packages of party rolls (Hawaiian rolls or potato rolls work best)
1/2 pound cooked shaved ham
5 ounces sliced Swiss cheese

Directions
In a medium bowl mix butter, poppy seed, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard together.  Slice rolls horizontally in half.  Spread butter mixture on the tops and place ham and cheese on the bottoms.  Place tops and bottoms back together and wrap sandwiches in aluminum foil or medium sized baking dish. (I prefer the aluminum foil for easy clean up)  Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven at 350 degrees.
