Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. Homemade Croutons Recipe
Old Bread, any type - I actually used Hot Dog buns that were leftover from Ty's birthday party.
Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut bread into cubes.
In a large bowl, toss bread cubes with enough olive oil to lightly coat. I used approximately 1/4 cup for 6 hot dog buns.
Add Kosher salt and black pepper and toss until cubes are coated.
Put bread on baking pan that is lined with aluminum foil for easy clean up.
Bake bread in oven for 20-30 minutes until bread is golden brown and crunchy.
Homemade croutons can last up to two weeks stored in a plastic container or bag, unrefrigerated.
You can also add your own spices to add a variety of flavor to these croutons. I'm going to try basil and Parmesan cheese on my next batch!
