About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Chocolate Peanut-Butter No Bake Cookies

I needed a dessert to bring to a church function tonight but didn't have a lot of time to bake or go to the grocery store to buy a bunch of ingredients.  This recipe is so simple especially when you're short on time and has the very basic ingredients in it.  Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 stick butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter (I like to use chunky but you can use creamy if you prefer)
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups old fashioned or quick oatmeal
Waxed Paper

Directions:
In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil the sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk.  Let boil for 1 minute and remove from heat.  Add peanut butter, vanilla, and oatmeal.  Stir well.  On a sheet of waxed paper, drop mixture by the teaspoonfuls, until cooled and hardened.
