About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

Broccoli and Carrots Baby Food Recipe

This is a super easy baby food recipe that is very healthy and affordable.  I found a bag of frozen broccoli in the freezer this afternoon that needed to be used up so I threw that in my steamer along with 1/2 bag of carrots that were close to their expiration date.  I added a tablespoon of fresh minced garlic and steamed the veggies for about 30 minutes until very tender.  Throw it in your blender with a tablespoon of butter and blend well.  This made enough for 4 meals for Ty.  Ty is a big eater so you may be able to get 8 meals out of this depending on how much your child eats.

  3. He only wants homemade baby food now. It's easier just to put whatever we are eating for dinner into the blender and let him eat that. Works well.
