About Me

My photo

Life is beautiful whether you're soaking in sunshine or caught in a thunderstorm. I take the beauty of life for granted too often. I have a supportive husband who I don't want to live life without, a beautiful son who is always reminding me of the simple things that really matter, and an independent daughter who is teaching me to throw schedules out the window and live in the moment. My day is made when free samples fill my mailbox. I love discovering a new product and sharing it with others. I'm addicted to coupons and every penny counts. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and will share your success stories with me as well.

January's Giveaway

A couple weeks ago I posted about making a trip up the The Biltmore Estate.  We had season tickets this past year and made several trips up there even if we didn't tour the estate each time.  There are a lot of great picnic areas, hiking and walking trails, and so many other great things to do there.  This month I'm giving away two free adult admission tickets to one lucky winner!  All you have to do is leave a comment and let me know if you have ever visited the Biltmore Estate before or if this would be your first time.  If you have visited before, tell me about your favorite room there.  Because these free admission tickets expire on February 28, 2011, I will end this giveaway a little early so you will have plenty of time to redeem these tickets.  Giveaway will end on Thursday, January 13th and the winner will be announced on Friday, January 14th.
***There will also be some BOGO coupons included with these tickets that you will be able to use during your visit.

  1. I have only been there twice and it was during the winter, so I have never been there during they daytime! And the two times I was there I was performing Handbell choir and singing in the Honors Chorale with BJA! That never left me anytime to actually enjoy the tour! My husband has never been and we were just talking about wanting to go and would never be able to afford it! So there is my sob story and I'm sticking to it!!!

  4. We have only gone once and I LOVED listening to all the history on the audio while walking through the house. Several of the rooms were being remodeled when we were there a couple years ago so would like to go back and go through the entire house. Great giveaway!!!

  5. I used to live in North Carolina (now I live in New York) and visited the Biltmore Estate as a child. I don't remember the specific rooms but I do remember a very spirited tour guide once noticing a missing clock on a side table once. He walked into the room, felt something was missing and could instantly tell it was the clock. I remember being fascinated that he was that familiar with the Estate. As an adult, I'd love to bring my kids to see it too.

  6. Yes! I have been there. The last time I went was for my 11th anniversary. It was just me and my husband! They had actually opened up the top floor to be viewed. So my favorite room was the bedroom where the kids were born. The room was beautiful and the view was spectacular! Plus it has such sentimental value to the family. I'd def love to see it again!

  7. I have been but it's been such a long time that I don't remember the specific rooms. However what did stick in my mind the last time was the large library and the swimming pool. It's amazing how the swimming pool operated back then. I would love to go again. Thanks for offering the giveaway!!
